Portland's Majestic Steel Bridge

The Steel Bridge is one of the most utilitarian and distinctive bridges in Portland. It is the only double-deck bridge with independent lifts in the world and is the second oldest vertical-lift bridge in North America. It hosts more modes of transportation than any other bridge in Portland -bicycle/pedestrian traffic, cars, MAX, freight trains, cars trucks, and Amtrak. Not only is it useful, it's also old. The Steel Bridge celebrated its 100th birthday last year!
